As of today, my husband has everything framed. He needs to finish the plumbing and do all the electrical work. Once he finishes that and we have the new HVAC installed then we can have the inspection done. If everything passes, we can begin insulating and hang the sheetrock. Then we can install the new cabinets.
I have waited so long for this. We started this project almost three years ago. We had to put it all on hold while Daniel was in the fire academy and then it just kept getting put off for one reason or another. I am hoping that we will be completely finished by March or April.

Greatful
In keeping with Keri's idea to list 3 things she is greatful for daily, I figured that I would give it a try.
1) That my husband is finally working on our house.
2) That I am still employed in a time when so many others are losing their jobs.
3) That my grandfather is making a recovery from his most recent brush with CHF.

So over the weekend, we finally started our home gut job. Mason no longer has a bedroom and now he and his sister are sharing a bedroom. For now. I am not sure that this is going to last very long. Mason is already getting out of bed constantly and it has only been 2 days.
When I get home from work today, my kitchen will be gone. It is very stressful but in the end, I will be so happy to have a kitchen that the family cat actually have a sit down dinner together. Our old kitchen was so small that we could not even put a table in it. I can not wait to get home and see the results. It is very hard being here at work. I want to be at home helping. I am sure that my husband is happy that I am not there with him. He has my father there this week and his dad will be able to help on Wednesday.
Hopefully, I will have kitchen cabinets installed by the end of the week.

Blah!
Since I can not post on my regular blog, I figured that I will try this out for a while. We will see how it goes.
Right now the hubby and I are in the midst of a home remodel. He has completed the outside of the house and has started on the inside. This week, he moved the washer, dryer, and water heater to their new homes in the utility room. It is going to be so nice to be able to do laundry in a controlled environment. For the past 13 years, I have been doing the laundry in my garage. During the winter I have always had to use powder detergent due to the fact that the liquid would get so cold that it poured from the bottle like honey. In the summer, the liquid would pour out really fast like maple syrup. No more buying powder and liquid.
My husband is taking next week off to work on the house. He still has to finish the plumbing, do all the electrical, all the interior framing, install cabinets, countertops, flooring, etc. Basically: ERRRTHANG! I am so freaking excited.
I have picked out my countertops, lights, a ceiling fan for the master bedroom, and I have an idea for the sink faucets. I am really hoping that he can accomplish a lot over the next week. Until it is finished we will be living in cluter and I LOATHE clutter. It makes me crazy. I may need to be medicated before it is all over.
